Despite geopolitical uncertainty and high inflation, investors began the year with an optimistic outlook, as most survey respondents expected higher levels of purchasing activity in 2022. Industrial and multifamily were the most favored property types, while seven of the top 10 most preferred markets were in the Sun Belt. Although lower returns are expected across sectors, investment volumes are expected to approach 2021 levels.
